He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. -Micah 6:8
Justice and Mercy is a ministry of New Mercy Community Church dedicated to assisting people in need.
We are a team of brothers and sisters who believe the gospel compels believers to use their gifts and resources to help our neighbors. To a certain degree, our ministry overlaps with some of the objectives of Mercy Global, New Mercy's missions branch. However, while they focus on efforts around the world by building teams and sending them on short-term/long-term trips to aid our partners, our primary goal is to utilize education and resources to provide concrete forms of intervention and assistance. By providing direct, tangible forms of aid, we hope people and communities would be able to experience genuine relief.
Our scope is both local and global for individuals and communities, and our response can be both acute and longterm.
Here are some of the things we do
Sometimes individuals and families in our local community experience difficult financial crises where they require assistance. People in these situations can apply for aid to our ministry. Our team will review each case to see in what manner we can help. All applicants who receive aid are also required to see a financial counselor. To apply for aid, please email email@example.com, and we will send you the form. (All names and information will be kept confidential.)
Disasters — natural and human-made — plague our world. When these tragedies strike, the suffering can be both devastating and intense. We believe the people of God are called to mobilize resources rapidly to bring relief to our neighbors during such times of crisis. Justice and Mercy will lead campaigns to rally the church in those efforts.
God tells us to shine the light of the gospel in the darkest places in the world. This work starts first with shining a light on things and raising awareness about them (e.g., human trafficking). From there, Christians work toward channeling resources and prayer so that these places can experience the mercy and renewal of God. Our ministry will educate and organize the church around issues that they feel God is compelling us to address.
Stoneman Douglas Victims' Fund
On February 14, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Seventeen people were killed and seventeen more were wounded, making it one of the world's deadliest school massacres. To assist with the victims’ families of this massacre, Justice and Mercy will be donating $500 to the Stoneman Douglas Victims' Fund which is setup purely for that purpose. This is NOT a political stance or part of the gun control movement, rather we are lending aid for the victims’ families that have suffered much.
Justice and Mercy welcomes the congregation to join us in donating to this worthy cause and are offering a one for one MATCH up to a total of $1,000. Additionally, please also keep these victims’ families in prayer.
The Justice & Mercy Fund
Our ministry depends on the generosity of its donors in order to bring real relief to people and to achieve our objectives.
